What are some ideas for wedding locations?

justin_in_sanford asked:

Hello all! I just recently asked my girlfriend to marry me… and she said yes. Now we are planning the wedding. Although the location is very hard to figure out with the time frame that we want to get married.

Anywho, what are some ideas for wedding locations. We have been looking at hotel ball rooms, chapels, civic centers, parks, and even possibly on a cruise. I know there have to be other locations we are not thinking of! And bonus if you know of locations in Florida, preferrably Central Florida, but hey I’m not picky! Thanks for the read and I look forward to all your answers!

my parents were on vacation in Florida a few years ago and they saw a wedding happening on the beach at sunset. My mother said there were tons and tons of roses, the sun was setting, light breeze the ocean…..She is a very traditional person but she said that was the most romantic wedding she’s ever seen. She loved that it was out doors by the ocean.

well, they aren’t fancy, but you can decorate.. look at the local grange halls, and recreation centers.. they are always good for inexpensive rentals. we have a room at the transit center here that overlooks the river, and all the buses for those that needs them.

try colleges.. they have big rooms.. usually pretty ones. some will, some won’t. what time of year? try parks.. they often have shelters that will accommodate the reception and keep you out of the heat.

try museums.. they are decorated with art and pictures.. clean.. open spaces.. and you can use them as the theme..

we have a paddle boat here, it gives rides on the rivers.. the captain marries you on the river, and it’s beautiful.. got anything like that? maybe the boats all on the everglades? might work, just have a few go with you.. have the big reception afterwards..

and, if nothing else.. there is always Disney World.. remember? a park like that.. quick ceremony.. cake reception.. and let them all go and play afterwards while you get on with the honeymoon!

Many marinas have public space available for rent. Our local public museum provided an exceptionally beautiful area. The same with libraries. Colleges frequently have large halls to rent. Does someone have a home large enough for a tent?

We even attended one at a landscaping firm. They had a beautiful spot and the cost of decorating was pretty much taken care of with all the gorgeous flowers all over the place!
